vegan skincare

Vegan skincare is absolutely smashing it and we love to see it. There are a wide variety of vegan skincare brands to choose from now. There are also many options that are made from quality ingredients and at affordable prices, so it can be hard to decide which one is best.

We’ve put together the top 11 must-have vegan skincare brands and all the information as to where you can buy them and how much their products range from.

I myself am vegan and I have to admit that after five years of being vegan, I only, in the last year, started implementing a vegan skincare routine and I haven’t looked back since. We’re very lucky we live in a time where vegan skincare brands provide excellent results and are being ethically made.

Below we have the 11 must-have vegan skincare brands

BEST VEGAN SKINCARE

1. PAI

vegan skincare

Pai is a skincare brand founded by Sarah Brown who struggled with hives herself, after realizing that a lot of the products on the shelves were proclaimed to be ‘hypoallergenic’ but still caused a lot of people with sensitive skin negative reactions.

Sarah then went on to create vegan skincare products that you can rest assured will be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive ones; and like magic, the brand PAI was created.

PAI’s most popular products are rosehip oil and the Pai organic chamomile & rosehip face cream.

Pai organic chamomile cream

Pai rosehip oil is available on amazon.

I myself have fallen head over heels in love with this rosehip oil. I use it as a serum under my moisturizer and can vouch that this will not only make your skin feel silky but also more glowy. It works so well to the point multiple times that I haven’t felt the need to apply a moisturizer afterward.

Actresses Emma Watson and Natalie Portman have both expressed their love for the ‘organic chamomile & rosehip face cream’ in separate interviews. They went a step further to say it’s either their go-to or Emma Watson's words, “It is my favorite moisturizer!”

This brand is growing rapidly and it is suitable for people of all ages, who really just appreciate quality skincare at a reasonable price. You can imagine that this brand would be a gold mine for you if you have sensitive skin or you just prefer to have great products with minimal harsh ingredients in your skincare routine.

Where you can purchase Pai: UK Planet Organic, Selfridges, John Lewis, Feelunique, Lookfantastic, Cult Beauty, GOOP, Pai Skincare website directly, and more.

2. Skinproud

vegan skincare

Skinproud is a vegan skincare brand that has an amazing digital presence. The company was founded by Charlotte Knight who was already a leader of another successful cosmetic brand before.

Skinproud has expressed that they are boundary-pushing and influenced by trend-led ingredients when it comes to creating their products.

This is so evident when you look at one of their best-selling products ‘frozen over – gel to ice hydrator.’ Now, usually, you would think this frozen over was a metaphor but this product is actually kept in the FREEZER. You will love applying this refreshing product to your skin, especially in the morning when you’re still half asleep with a puffy face (this is one of my favorite products).

Cold therapy has been proven to have so many benefits to your health and has been utilized in multiple industries such as the health and wellness industry. People use cryotherapy to heal faster and reduce inflammation; even the classic ice bath athletes take has been proven to have physical benefits.

Skinproud products are really affordable based on the price range. Cheapest product:£7.95  everything balm, multi-use skin balm). Most expensive:£16.95 Frozen over–gel to ice hydrator

This brand is likely to appeal to the GEN Z age range because of its amazing digital presence. products, especially the frozen over gel, have gone viral on TikTok with people loving the refreshing feeling of using a very cold product. Kady McDermott former popular Love Islander has expressed her love for this brand. The price range is also very affordable, with all vegan ingredients, and is made in a sustainable way.

Where you can buy Skinproud: Beauty Bay, Asos, Boots, Skinproud site, Feel Unique, and Walmart.

CRYO BALLS:

vegan skincare

With us talking about COLD THERAPY, I have discovered a tool that provides this effect and is long-lasting, meaning you only have to purchase it once. I discovered this from Beyonce’s make-up artist Sir John in a masterclass. The product is cryo balls.

These cryo balls are very similar to ice cubes. “if I had to explain them bluntly, you put them in the fridge in between use and take them out when ready to do your skincare routine. You use them whilst you have your cleanser on to help them slide and you will love how COLD and REFRESHING they feel on your skin. The cryo balls stay really cold for ages!

This is a game-changer as the benefits are endless. This product would be great for people who want to upgrade their skincare routine.

where you can buy cryo balls: Amazon.com

3. Byoma

veganskincare

Byoma is a vegan skincare brand that has grabbed a lot of people's attention on social media, with its distinctive bright packaging and very clear ingredients listed clearly on the products.

Byoma skincare brand was founded in the 2020 lockdown by CEO MARC Elrick. We love to see a business like this come out of lockdown! Byoma has a small range of products, meaning that there is usually only one product per category, one moisturizer, one cleanser, etc. This is quite sensible because you are not overwhelmed by choices and the products are clearly made to suit all skin types.

These products are perfect for all budgets as they are very affordable, ranging from the cheapest being the creamy jelly cleanser (popular product) which is £9.99, and the most expensive ‘moisturizing rich cream’ which is £12.99.

Byoma creamy jelly cleanser is very popular with TikTok stars such as @emmabrooksmicallister and is the most affordable product.

These products are great for a simple skincare routine that is literally super affordable and effective.

Where you can buy Byoma: Cult Beauty, Boots, Byoma, Selfridges

4. Youth to the People

vegan Skincare

Youth to the People is a family-owned skincare brand that has a history of success. This brand was founded by cousins Greg Gonzalez and Joe Cloyes who were inspired by their lovely grandma Eva. Eva, who had already founded her own skincare brand in the 70s, expresses that this brand's Youth to the People formulas are ‘like a green juice for the skin.’

Youth to the People are quite big on the environment and have expressed that ‘We only have one planet to protect’ which is so true and admirable. Their products have many superfoods, and nutrient-rich ingredients for the skin.

One of their best sellers is the superfood antioxidant cleanser which is the perfect example of Eva’s phrase.

Many skincare experts express that there are a lot of superfoods and vegetables that we digest that could also have amazing benefits if we were to physically put them on our skin. We know this to be true with Avocado.

This skincare brand's superfood blends are very appealing to those that prefer to choose ingredients that are more natural and, of course, effective.

The price of products ranges from the cheapest £10.50 Youth to the People adaptogen smoothe+hydrate activated mist to the most expensive £53 Superfood cleanser refill (double the size of the regular one).

Another product that has TikTok raving is the ‘triple peptide oasis serum.’ TikTok star @drewafualo is one of many who really love using this product.

5. Summer Fridays

vegan skincare

Summer Fridays are a skincare brand famous for its amazing jet lag mask. Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland are friends and are both influencers who founded summer Fridays. Jet lag was their only product when they first launched.

Summer Fridays being a skincare brand founded by influencers naturally had people being skeptical at first, similar to most celebrity skincare brands. However, both their passion for wellness and skincare proved that their vegan skincare brand was made to be so effective and high-quality that the followers couldn't argue with the great results.

The jet lag mask became very well-known on social media with the positive reviews piling on. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Rosie Huntington, and Jessica Alba all expressed their love for this product.

To this day, the jet lag mask is still their most popular product and I can see why because I adore it too. Now, the brand has expanded and has a whole range of ethical products!

These products are extremely effective and are rich in your favorite skincare ingredients. They do cost a bit more than some of the other popular vegan skincare brands, so you can get them, depending on your budget.

I personally like to mix and match between brands when it comes to making sure my skincare routine is affordable. For example, you could purchase a more affordable option for a cleanser from another vegan skincare brand you like and then purchase the ‘must-have face mask from this brand.’ This is the structure that could suit you well if you are on a budget but want to get the best overall products.

The price ranges between the most expensive CC me serum with vitamin C+ Niacinamide ($66 or £55) and the cheapest $17 mini cloud dew oil-free gel cream.

Where can you buy Summer Fridays: Cult Beauty, Mecca, Sephora, Revolve, Selfridges, Net A Porter

6. Goop

vegan skincare

Now Goop is a lifestyle brand that is quite well-known for being founded by Gwyneth Paltrow. Goop’s creators are big believers in being innovative and trying new things; they have expressed that they are ‘going first so you don’t have to.’

Goop has its own skincare products that are made ethically and vegan. These products are great if you’re willing to invest a little more in your skincare routine as the price range is higher than others. The cheapest product is called the Goop genes clean nourishing lip balm for $20 to the most expensive Goopgenes all-in-one nourishing face cream for $98.

With Gwyneth Paltrow promoting such a holistic and healthy lifestyle, it comes as no surprise that her brand GOOP products are very effective when it comes to having clean ingredients.

Goop Face Oil is featured in the hilarious viral Gwyneth Paltrow TikTok where her daughter narrates her skincare routine while using the oil.

Where you can buy Goop:  Goop website, Cult beauty

7. Juice Beauty

vegan skincare

Juice Beauty is a really interesting vegan skincare brand because they have a ‘farm-to-face’ way of making their products. Juice Beauty actually has its own skincare farms where they source a lot of its key ingredients. The company’s farm has over 300 different olive trees with 13 different variants and is continuously expanding the farm with ambitions of sourcing all the ingredients in its products.

Juice Beauty is a brand that makes it very clear that the ingredients they put into their products really matter to them! And as customers, that is music to our ears because it also matters to us.

Juice Beauty works a lot with Kate Hudson who also has her own line within the brand. The company also promotes anti-aging products which are great for more mature ladies. It is even more special if you want anti-aging products that are high quality and would love to ensure they are vegan. A good example of this would be the ‘stem cellular anti-wrinkle eye cream treatment for £48’ that works beautifully.

Juice Beauty is targeted more towards women and less of the gen z demographic like young girls, the price range is a little higher than some of the other vegan skincare brands. The price ranges from the cheapest blemish clearing cleanser for £27.00 to the most expensive steam cellular anti-wrinkle overnight cream for £71.

My personal favorite product is the 'PREBIOTIX™ FRESHLY SQUEEZED GLOW, 20% VITAMIN C SERUM'.

8. Elf

vegan skincare

Elf has a great vegan skincare range. This brand has been around since 2004 and originally filled a gap in the market at a time when there weren’t many options for quality, affordable products that are both vegan and ethical.

Elf being a cosmetic and skincare brand, have loyal customers and is reliable at providing effective products at a very affordable price!

These vegan skincare products are suitable for every budget.

The original products Elf sold were priced at $1—what a bargain! Now the products’ prices range from the cheapest mini super clarifying cleanser for £4 (Elf has quite a few mini products for this price) to the most expensive beauty shield magnetic mask for £28.

One of the popular and bestsellers is the super nourish face oil. This essential oil blend is made from rock rose and jasmine oil. When it comes to this product, you can apply it as a serum before applying your everyday moisturizer.

Nowadays, it’s not just about having a great vegan skincare line; as consumers, you want the brands you’re buying and supporting to be passionate about being ethical! Elf is a great example of this, founded by father-son duo Joey and Alan Shamah. They were both inspired to create Elf by Joey’s wife who was pregnant and spending A LOT of money on overpriced cosmetics and skincare.

Elf products are available to buy: Beauty Bay, ASOS, Superdrug, Boots, Elf cosmetics

With Kylie Jenner having such an influence, particularly in the makeup world, creating a skincare brand seems like a great fit. This is because we all know that the first step to having great makeup is having a great skincare routine!

One of her most popular and best-selling products is 'watermelon lip oil: it is amazing! It’s very nourishing and smells amazing but most importantly, it helps compliment that effortless natural look by having a slight pink tint to it, whilst hydrating the lips.

Ren is widely popular on social media and very popular with content creators giving the brand positive reviews. Founded by Rob Calcart and Anthony Buck, Ren was inspired by Buck’s wife who was continuously having reactions to skincare brands whilst pregnant.

Ren has a lot of very effective skincare products such as ‘ready steady glow AHA tonic.’ This brand is great for people who want to use the popular and effective acids (acids such as salicylic acid & retinol) type products.
